Jacinta Jones is the new executive officer at the helm of Women in Business and Regional Development Limestone Coast and she is excited to see where the new role takes her.

Having been on the board for about six years and the chair for two, Ms Jones has taken over the EO role.

“I’m really excited to be able to continue the work that the board has really worked hard on over the last few years,” she said.

“There’s exciting times ahead.”

With this change, Brittany Shelton will be stepping up from the co-deputy chair role to become a co-chair with Catherine Featherstonehough.

“Succession planning is something that we’re always thinking about and obviously our amazing EO has now won the position of mayor at the District Council of Grant and we’re very proud of that,” she said.

“So we are now doing a reshuffle internally and Jacinta, who was our chair, is now going to be stepping into the executive officer role, which we thought fit best for our board and we are so lucky that she was willing to do that.”

Former EO Kylie Boston said she was stepping down so she could focus on her mayoral duties, but said she would keep up with WiBRD as she loved being involved.

“I couldn’t do everything, which we knew at the time, but you don’t know whether you’re going to get these opportunities, so I guess I’ve gone from one great role to another great role,” she said.

Ms Shelton said WiBRD had a lot planned for 2023.

“We have got a massive year, we rolled out our Mentor Connect this year for the first year and we also are rolling out a new membership structure,” she said.

One event Ms Jones was looking forward to was the return of the Influential Women in Business Awards in August.

“It’s certainly a very big year,” she said.

Filling the roles of co-deputy chairs will be Lamorna Alexander and Toni Vorenas, while Nicole Reschke will remain treasurer and Debbie White, Ruth Lawson and Rhiannon Mathers will continue as board members.
