TWO boards in the area have come together to discuss the barriers and opportunities around local water resource management.

Limestone Coast Landscape Board (LCLB) and South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board (SEWCDB) met in late August to talk about the region’s Drainage and Wetland Strategy.

The meeting involved a combination of presentations from both boards and on-site visits around the region with a coastal focus.

LCLB chair Penny Schulz said the ongoing collaborative and strategic approach was vital in driving protection for water resources.

“We are excited that water projects linked to the Drainage and Wetland Strategy are progressing and that our collaboration is investigating further opportunities to protect and balance the region’s water resources, while supporting Limestone Coast primary production, biodiversity, industry, social and cultural requirements,” she said.

“The partnership with the South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board is critical to achieving success, and supports the Limestone Coast Landscape Board’s ‘Making Every Drop Count’ strategic direction.”

The two boards first began meeting annually in 2021 with the aim to facilitate greater delivery of work under the objectives of the Drainage and Wetland Strategy.
