COMMUNITY groups and not-for-profits in the Limestone Coast can now apply for project grants worth thousands.

The Stand Like Stone Foundation has urged community groups and NFPs to apply for its annual Small Grants program.

Grants of up to $10,000 could be awarded to those working in or servicing the Limestone Coast.

Stand Like Stone chief executive Roger Babolka said the grants have been made possible by community donations.

“We have proudly worked in partnership with our region supporting communities right across the Limestone Coast for over 18 years now,“ he said.

“As funding for these projects comes directly from the community, it’s everyone who has ever donated to Stand Like Stone that makes these grants possible.”

These grants gave out over $45,000 in 2021, going towards projects like upgrading facilities at community halls and a mentor driver program facilitated by Red Cross.

“The impact of donating to the foundation continues to be realised every year, as the donations are invested to earn income which is then given back to the community annually through community grants and scholarships,” Mr Babolka said.

“Our Small Grants program enables the Foundation to respond to the needs of the people and communities of this region, ensuring local projects receive local support.

“We certainly encourage everyone to get on board and apply.”

Applications for the Small Grants Program opened on September 15 and close on October 31.
