Start dusting off those joggers and get ready to run, with the Coonawarra Running Festival getting closer.
With less than two months to go, the inaugural Coonawarra Running Festival will be here very quickly, offering a variety of events for everyone from the very young to older, running or walking, serious or fun.
Registrations are open, so keen locals or visitors who wish to be involved are urged to gert their registrations in.
Coonawarra Running Festival merchandise is available to purchase on-line but must be pre-paid and ordered prior to end of September to ensure delivery – this also applies to the glass for the Wobbly Winery Walk.
Registrations will remain open after end of September but you may not receive a memorabilia glass or be able to pre-order merchandise.
There will be a very small limited amount of merchandise available to purchase on the day.
There will be professional photographers throughout the course taking photographs which will be available for purchase on line after the event, so don;t worry about a camera, and there will be free drinking water available to refill your water bottle.
On the day there will be an array of food including healthy poke bowls, fruit kebabs, homemade slices, salad rolls, pasta, hot chips and a barbeque, and everyone is encouraged to support the “food court” to help support the groups fundraising.
Even those who don;t wish to be involved in the run itself will have plenty to do, with many market stalls setting up in the Coonawarra Park to start Christmas shopping, and music all day with impromptu interviews throughout the event.
Anyone interested in hosting a stall is encouraged to email to lodge their interest.
Volunteers are required to help make the day run efficiently and the committee is calling for more volunteers.
