LYNETTE Martin will continue in her role as Mayor of the City of Mount Gambier after there were no other nominations received.
The other candidate had to pull out of the race due to health reasons.
Nominations for the Local Government elections closed this week, with 18 nominations for councillors’ positions.
There are some familiar faces in the race with current councillors Max Bruins, Ben Hood, Sonya Mezinec, Kate Amoroso, Paul Jenner and Frank Morello all putting up their hands again.
The ballot was drawn on Tuesday, with many candidates in attendance to see who was lucky enough to get the top spot.
