A GAMBIER Centrals pocket rocket achieved a rare feat over the weekend, with Emmy Jeffrey scoring her 100th goal for the Lions’ Under 13 girls.

The 11-year-old has had a golden boot this season and she totalled 11 goals in Saturday’s convincing win over Millicent.

In a fitting turn of events, her 11th goal equalled her 100th for the year – an achievement few can boast.

Jeffrey plays the striker position for Centrals and has always played for the club.

“I have been playing for six or seven years,” she said.

“I started with the mini roos at Centrals and now I am in Under 13’s.”

Her talents have not been restricted to Under 13’s and she competes in the Under 16 team as well.

She also leads the league goal scoring in that age group with 18 goals, which brings her total to a staggering 118 with three rounds to play.

Jeffrey’s dream is to one day represent Australia and she said she would love to play for the Matildas.

She has recently competed in the junior State Championships, while was also invited for the State Identification Program in Adelaide.

Trips to Adelaide have been a frequent occurrence this year, and she has attended 12 of 20 training sessions with Cristiano Dos Santos through Football SA.

When asked what she likes most about her home club, Jeffrey said it was a good environment to play soccer.

“They are supportive and it’s a really good club to play at,” she said.

“I love playing with a team and meeting new people and getting along with other people.”

She thanked the support from her club and her teammates on the way to her impressive milestone.

“Thank you to my coaches and my team for helping me get to 100 goals,” Jeffrey said.

Jeffrey’s attention now turns towards the approaching Limestone Coast Football Association finals.

Centrals’ Under 13’s are currently undefeated and have their eyes set on the premiership glory which eluded them last season.
