THE doubled Cost of Living Concession has been brought forward by the State Government in an effort to help those with the continued rising in cost of living.

A one-off concession payment of up to $449 will be made from August to all eligible households with the previous payments split as some households expected to be paid in August while others had to wait until the following March.

Due to increased cost of petrol and inflation continuing to rise, the State Government announced bringing forward the payments late last week.

Home owners who occupy their homes will receive $449 in the 2022-23 financial year, an increase from the previous $217.20.

Home-owners who are self-funded retirees with a Commonwealth Senior Health Card will receive $224.60, an increase from $108.60 while tenants will receive $224.60, an increase from $108.60.

The payments in August will be made to anyone who had applied by July 1 with new applicants still able to be paid the double rate in 2022-2023 if they submit an application by December 31 this year.
