MOUNT Gambier band Suburban Henry will be hitting the stage at the Commercial Hotel this Saturday.

Band guitarist David Fox said it was great to get back into live music now that dancing was allowed again, as it was difficult to play in front of crowds during Covid restrictions.

“We had a few occasions where people had been thrown out of a pub for dancing which is quite strange for anyone’s eyes,” Mr Fox said.

“Nowadays it’s back on and it’s just great seeing people get up there and enjoying their night out especially at the Commercial Hotel.”

Mr Fox said a few people he used to know from school, as well as some others from Adelaide, were also coming to Mount Gambier to see the band play this Saturday.

“What that tells me is that if we can get out for gigs then it brings people together and that’s what we want to see,” he said.

The band will be performing other shows throughout the year, with the next one being at the beginning of July.

“We have one coming up two weeks later for Christmas in July at the RSL on July 9,” Mr Fox said.

“We have all sorts of stuff coming up like weddings and things like that, you name it and it will be happening.”
