BUSINESSES involved in the Mount Gambier Neighbourhood Watch initiative are considering opening up the group to all members of the community.
The latest meeting on Wednesday night was attended by seven members of the business community, significantly less than their inaugural meeting.
Neighbourhood Police Officer Constable Chelsea McKinnon said that in her interactions with business owners they had been receptive to the group, and still had hope of it expanding.
It was suggested by Constable McKinnon to open up the group to include all members of the Mount Gambier community, businesses or otherwise, to increase interest and activity.
A WhatsApp group to help businesses communicate about potential threats was also discussed, but no one volunteered to help run the idea, so will not be implemented at this stage.
