Four suspicious fires

POLICE are investigating a series of deliberately lit fires in pine plantations in the Limestone Coast.

On November 30 at about 8pm, police and fire crews were called to Duell Road at Moorak after reports of a grass fire.

The pine plantation fire was deemed to be suspicious but the cause is undetermined at this time.

About 3pm on December 12, emergency services were called to Furness Road at Dismal Swamp after reports of a fire at a pine plantation.

The fire was deemed suspicious by fire officers.

On Monday December 27 at about 2pm, a suspicious fire was started in a pine forest off McEncroe Road at Tarpeena which burnt about five hectares of land.

A few hours later a second fire started about 400 metres north west of the original fire.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have information relating to the suspicious fires, or who may have dashcam footage of vehicles driving in the area at the time.
