Kingsley CFS Cadets

CADETS ON BOARD: The Kingsley CFS cadets as they gear up for more exciting adventures.

THE future of the Kingsley Country Fire Service (CFS) Group is looking bright with 14 new cadets.

Led by Port MacDonnell Brigade Lieutenant Ray Coutts, the cadets are undertaking CFS equipment training, attending team-building camps and representing the group at the Anzac Day memorial in Adelaide.

For Anzac Day this year, five cadets attended the Adelaide Anzac Youth Vigil, standing vigil over the War Memorial throughout the night, along with members of the defence forces and emergency services personnel.

Cooper Millard was awarded the CFS Anzac Medal for outstanding effort.

He was also recently voted in as cadet captain and Josh Virgo and Nathaniel Abbott as lieutenants.

This year, the cadets also attended Noorla Yo Long Blue Light Adventure camp where members learnt how to work as a team, overcome fear of failure and improve their self-confidence.

The funds for the adventure camp were raised by the cadets through a number of exciting activities including a shave off and a cadet versus senior’s hose-rolling evening.
