Timberlink adds to expansion

NEW TREATMENT PLANT: Timberlink is set to further expand the capability of the Tarpeena manufacturing facility with a new Light Organic Solvent Preservative timber treatment plant.

TIMBERLINK has announced a $5.3m upgrade to its Tarpeena manufacturing facility, with the installation of a new Light Organic Solvent Preservative timber treatment plant.

Timberlink chief executive Ian Tyson said the expansion leveraged the upgrades announced last year, which will add a Cross Laminated Timber and Glue Laminated Timber manufacturing facility to the Tarpeena site.

It is expected around 50 permanent jobs will be added to the facility once the two plants begin operating in 2023.

“This investment in a dedicated treatment plant is another key development in the creation of a world-class timber processing facility in Tarpeena,” Mr Lines said.

“New permanent roles will be created at the site, in addition to a number of jobs created during construction.”

It is expected the treatment plant will create another three new jobs.

The project will start this month and is expected to be completed early in 2023.
