THE world of the walking dead came to life last weekend for the Limestone Coast Zombie Walk with more than 100 people taking part in the Halloween community fundraiser.

Raising over $900 for the Friends of Native Wildlife SE, event organiser Kylie Bamford said the Saturday evening event was a success.

“All the zombies went above and beyond with some of their costumes and everyone did the right thing, sanitising on arrival and following social distancing protocols,” she said.

“As it fell on Halloween we found there were a lot of different costumes this year.

“There were costumes which fitted with the theme of COVID-19 and we were really proud of the town for following our COVID-19 safety rules.”

Ms Bamford said she looked forward to continuing the tradition next year.
