MOUNT Gambier City Council is expected to endorse the Limestone Coast Local Government Association business plan, which aims to develop improved and strong relationships in the region.
The 2020/21 business plan was tabled in a report at last week’s People and Place Committee meeting and was well received by council elected members.
The LCLGA’s plan identifies sustainable communities, stronger economy and member capability as the three key areas for focus during the next financial year.
Council chief executive Andrew Meddle said the approach taken by the LCLGA aligned with the council’s strategic plan.
“The benefits of strong relationships in our region will be good for the city and good for the region,” Mr Meddle said in the report.
“There remain opportunities to be capitalised upon, which will be best delivered through close working relationships and the sharing of expertise across the LCLGA area.”
The LCLGA is seeking endorsement of its business plan from the constituent councils and Mount Gambier City Council will formally make a decision at next week’s full council meeting.
