BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION: Tenison Woods College Early Learning Centre assistant director and wellbeing coordinator Angela Cutting and centre director Domenica Dunn cut a celebratory cake with children Lily Koopman (front left), Rory Watson, Alexandra McCullough and Beau Cutting.

HALF a decade of educating the nation’s future leaders is being celebrated at Tenison Woods College this week as its Early Learning and Community Centre turns five.

Since opening in 2014, the centre has focused its learning philosophies for children aged three to school age around nurturing young minds with meaningful care.

In the centre’s first year, 14 children completed kindergarten on-site, but this year the facility will have over 50 children graduate.

“Every day we highlight the children’s capabilities and we look forward to involving older students and the wider school community to help us celebrate,” centre director Domenica Dunn said.

“Our steady growth over the past five years has now allowed us to look to the future.”

Ms Dunn said the centre’s building expansion – planned for later this year – complemented the college’s upcoming master plan.

“Together we will support families through experiences which enliven our Catholic values,” she said.

“The planned expansion will see continued growth in the next five years and beyond.

“Children are challenged daily through their learning experiences and our commitment to fostering a child’s inquiry.”

Ms Dunn invited families to this week’s celebrations with a full itinerary available by contacting the centre.
