New executive search

LIMESTONE Coast Local Government Association (LGLGA) executive officer Dom Testoni has resigned and will take a position as chief executive of the Benalla Council in Victoria.

Mr Testoni begins in the role after the departure of long-serving Tony McIlroy, who has been the chief executive for the last 15 years.

Benalla Mayor Scott Upston said elected members were excited to welcome Mr Testoni to the team.

“Dominic brings experience in Local Government, small business and the not-for-profit sector,” he said.

“We welcome Dominic and his family to Benalla and look forward to working with him to continue achieving great things for our municipality.

“Dominic is from regional South Australia, so he has a good understanding of the issues and pressures facing small regional councils and rural communities.”

The search has begun for a new LGLCA executive officer, with the position externally advertised.

It attracts salary package of around $150,000.

The advertisement describes the executive officer as being the key conduit between the LGLGA board, member councils, staff and a broad range of external stakeholders.

Constituent councils of the LGLGA include Mount Gambier City Council, Grant, Wattle Range, Robe, Kingston, Naracoorte Lucindale and Tatiara.
