Compensation ordered for property damage

A MILLICENT man who damaged his ex partner’s property after they had an argument because he was playing his music too loudly has been ordered to pay for the damages.

The 21-year-old man appeared before the Millicent Magistrates Court last week and pleaded guilty to damaging property.

On September 24 the defendant damaged a mobile phone and three doors belonging to his former partner after an argument broke out because he was playing music too loudly in the morning.

The arguement became “emotional” when the defendant’s pregnant ex threatened to keep his child from him.

The defendant then broke a mobile phone and two doors on the property before smashing glass in the front door.

He was issued an interim intervention order for domestic abuse and was ordered to pay $1800 compensation.
