Millicent club liquidated

THE Millicent and District Community Club was placed into liquidation on Friday.

A small group of creditors met at the Adelaide office of voluntary administrator David Kidman, who partners with specialist insolvency firm Ferrier Hodgson.

They accepted his recommendation it be liquidated and also approved the schedule of his fees.

The creditors heard Mr Kidman had appointed David Herbert, of Mount Gambier firm Herbert Commercial, as the selling agent for the club building and adjacent car park.

As liquidator, Mr Kidman said he now had additional investigative powers.

Due to trading losses and debts, the community club’s board of directors decided to cease trading on September 4 with Mr Kidman appointed as voluntary administrator nine days later.

Mr Kidman has since convened two meetings of creditors and produced a 55-page report.
