Neal Daniher leads fundraising convoy into Limestone Coast

INSPIRATIONAL football identity Neale Daniher will arrive in the Blue Lake city today after he and a 100-strong convoy of vehicles embarked on the 2018 Fight MND Daniher’s Drive yesterday.

After enjoying lunch in Penola around 2pm, the contingent – which includes current and ex-footballers as well as members of the Daniher family – will arrive in Mount Gambier later in the afternoon.

The general public can rally behind the Fight MND cause at Vansittart Park around 5.30pm where some of the prominent figures on the drive will hold a community event.

Later on tonight, the Blue Lake city will play a key part in adding to the $1.1m raised for the 2018 charity drive before it has even hit the road, with a gala comedy and auction at The Barn headlined by Tom Gleeson and Cal Wilson.

The Daniher’s Drive is in its fourth year and the tour through the South East is part of a 1068km round-trip from Melbourne, raising money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.

It is the Fight MND Foundation’s second biggest fundraiser behind the Big Freeze At The G, having already raised $5.5m since the first event in 2015.
