BEACHPORT police are investigating a weekend break-in and theft at the Hatherleigh Sport and Recreation Centre.
Someone entered the Hatherleigh Oval clubroom between 5pm Saturday and 9am Sunday and stole a substantial amount of cash.
The club’s netballers and footballers had played in the Mid South East first semi-finals at Port MacDonnell earlier on Saturday and did not return to their clubrooms that night.
Hatherleigh Sport and Recreation Centre management committee chairman Deon Howell said more would probably be known after the area had been assessed by a specialist police crime scene examiner.
