RECENT controversy surrounding the Blades of Glencoe has been resolved after fears the event would be cancelled amid allegations of a donation cut.
The National Trust of South Australia Glencoe branch held a meeting last week with a representative group of blade shearers to discuss the planned event at the Glencoe woolshed in March next year.
The shearer representatives asked whether they could hire the woolshed to self-manage the planned event.
It was agreed the Glencoe woolshed would be available to the group at the standard event rate and organisers would retain the event name of Blades of Glencoe.
Both groups are pleased the event will proceed with the collaborative approach, ensuring focus remains on promoting an increased awareness of mental health issues in rural Australia.
All funds raised will go to the cause.
