Fire destroys newspaper office

MOUNT Gambier criminal and fire cause investigators have pored over a historic building in Bordertown after fire swept through the premises late last week.

Police located five burnt cannabis plants and equipment in the building, which previously housed the Bordertown Chronicle.

Police and firefighters were called to De Courcey Street following reports of a building on fire last Thursday at around 8.30pm.

No one was injured in the blaze and damage to the building has been estimated at more than $200,000.
