A PUBLIC meeting will be staged at Beachport on July 5 to discuss the operation and funding of the Beachport recreational boat ramp.
The open forum at 6.30pm at the South Coast Cinema is being arranged by the Beachport District Development Association in association with the Beachport Professional Fishermen’s Association and Wattle Range Council Beachport Boatramp Committee.
Among the issues expected to be discussed are lowering operating costs, keeping the facility operational year-round and reducing the environmental impact of the structure.
Former Beachport resident Luke Campbell has agreed to return from Western Australia to be present at the meeting to help clarify engineering queries.
He was the author of an engineering report commissioned in 2017 by the council regarding the boat ramp.
Anybody unable to attend the forum wishing to put forward ideas and suggestions can do so in writing to the Beachport Boat Ramp Forum c/o Beachport Post Office or email beachportboatrampforum@outlook.com before the end of June.
