Emergency services free man from roof

EMERGENCY service personnel undertook a complex exercise in logistics yesterday in rescuing a man stuck in a roof at an OB Flat property.

Just after 1.30pm, the South Australian Ambulance Service, CFS, MFS and the State Emergency Service responded to a report of a person stuck in a roof.

The man aged in his 40s sustained a knee injury while working within the roof space and was unable to move.

He was taken to hospital and treated for the isolated knee injury.

Regional ambulance operations manager Andrew Thomas commended the work of all responders in safely evacuating the patient.

“Some really great collaboration between all emergency services meant we were able to access the patient, provide treatment and relief for his injury and manoeuvre throughout the roof space to undertake an extraction of him,” he said.
