THE Naracoorte showgrounds will be a hub of activity this Sunday as the region’s largest employer Teys Australia puts on a day of food, fun and career information.
The event will be headlined by acclaimed children’s entertainer George the Farmer and will be an opportunity for locals to learn about the company.
“We would love the entire town and more to head to the showgrounds, whether you want a career in the beef processing industry or not,” Teys Naracoorte general manager Lachlan Teys said.
“For those who are leaving school or college or just want a change of direction, there will be information on the diverse and rewarding careers available.”
Mr Teys said career choices in the industry range from entry level to senior management and include quality or occupational health and safety, warehousing, butchering, logistics, accounting and administration.
Information packs for career advisors and job seekers will be handed out and Teys employees will be available to talk to.
“We have vacancies now and would love to talk to anyone interested in growing a career with us,” Mr Teys said.
Entertainment starts at 11am and the showgrounds will boast a jumping castle, face painting and performances from local musicians.
A variety of food will be available, including beef and gravy rolls, drinks and hot doughnuts.
Proceeds will be donated to the Naracoorte Lucindale Community Care Network.
“Teys is a proud part of this great community and I hope everyone joins us to celebrate the region,” Mr Teys said.
“We would love some to join the Teys family permanently.”
