THE Kathleen Millikan Centre has been officially recognised by the Victorian Government as a healthy early childhood service after reaching all of the required benchmarks for health promotion.
The Casterton facility received its sixth and final health priority icon as part of the Health Together Achievement Program, making it the second service in the Glenelg Shire cluster to achieve all six health promotion areas.
Kathleen Millikan Centre’s health and wellbeing achievements are proudly promoted on the achievement program sign outside the facility’s entrance, but Glenelg Shire Council children’s services manager Janine Johnstone said the real reward was having healthy and happy children and staff.
“By creating a healthier early childhood service we will help children learn, play and reach their full potential,” she said.
“We’re focused on making sure that children in the Glenelg Shire have the opportunity to live healthier lives.”
