Driving ban for convicted drug driver

A MOUNT Gambier man caught drug driving on four separate occasions has been banned from driving for 12 months.

Charles Richard Ball, 34, appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court pleading guilty to four counts of driving a vehicle with a combination of drugs in his body.

The four drug driving incidents occurred between November 8 and December 7.

On each occasion the defendant had cannabis and methamphetamine in his oral fluid.

The defendant’s car was impounded on December 4 in relation to the first incident on November 8.

Magistrate Teresa Anderson said due to severe financial hardship she would reduce impound costs to $700 and imposed the minimum fine of $900 for each incident.

Mr Ball had his licence disqualified for 12 months and his vehicle impounded for 21 days.
