ROBE Mayor Peter Riseley is pleased his community found itself in the national spotlight on Monday night when a documentary was screened on ABC television.
A number of the town’s natural features were highlighted as well as its residents, businesses and activities.
Mr Riseley extended his congratulations to all who worked on the “Back Roads” program which devotes each episode to an Australian country town.
“I might be biased but I think it was the best one yet,” Mr Riseley told The South Eastern Times.
“I was totally blown away, it was incredible and amazing.
“By using drones, they could show the geography of Robe and its coastline.
“I heard they had 80 hours of film and they could not use it all.
“They had enough for a whole series just on Robe.”
The Robe District Council lent general assistance to the producers and film crew when they visited Robe in the closing months of last year.
