City Council throws support behind arts celebrations

MOUNT Gambier City Council will support Country Arts SA’s 25 Years Celebrations to the value of $15,000 over two financial years.

The contribution will help cover expenses associated with the delivery of four arts experiences unique to Mount Gambier as part of the celebrations.

Artists will engage with the community in schools, hospitals and retail centres to enliven a creative city and ensure that as many people as possible engage with the arts.

The performances will also be marketed across the state to attract visitors to the region.

A first instalment of $7000 will be allocated from council’s 2017/18 budget and a second instalment of $8000 will be allocated in the 2018/19 budget preparation.
