Activities planned for ZestFest

THE senior population in the South East will have an opportunity to celebrate their contribution to the community next week when the District Council of Grant hosts the 2017 Seniors Festival.

The event, which is being held for people over the age of 55, will commence on Tuesday with activities running until the end of the week.

Free events include a behind the scenes tour of the Mount Gambier Airport and presentations about Bee Keeping and Generations In Jazz.

The Port MacDonnell and District Maritime Museum will be offering free entry for any senior person on Wednesday.

On the same day, visitors to the Port MacDonnell Community Complex will be able to view a photographic display by Alex Windows and Daren Galwey and a display of artist submissions for public artwork to be chosen for The Waterfront.

Council will also provide one free lunch during the festival to any Grant District senior resident who pre-books.

Grant District Council aims to provide activities for the week to ensure seniors have access to fellowship, meeting old friends and making new ones in a social atmosphere.

For bookings or more information on the events contact the Port MacDonnell Community Complex at pmcc@dcgrant.sa.gov.au or by contacting 8738 3000.
