Natural resources board members sought

NATURAL resources management boards across the state are seeking new community members committed to ensuring a resilient and healthy landscape for future generations.

South Australia currently has eight regional NRM boards with applications for up to 25 board member positions being sought.

The NRM boards provide regional leadership in, and connect local communities to the sustainable use and effective integrated management of natural resources at a regional level.

Environment, Water and Natural Resources Department parks and regions executive director Caroline Croser-Barlow said board members had the chance to leave a lasting legacy.

“Without sustainable management practices, many industries and communities would not have a long-term future, so it’s vital we make good decisions now,” she said.

Board members need to be available for between four and five days per month.

Applications close on October 30 with appointments commencing from April 2018 and may be for terms of up to four years.
