THE wood chip hauling operation of Mount Gambier’s Whitehead Group of Companies has been put under voluntary administration, potentially impacting the sustainability of around 40 jobs.
Clifton Hall administrator Daniel Lopresti told The Border Watch yesterday Pearce Logistics will be offered for sale “as a going concern” starting on the weekend with advertisements in various media.
“The administrators have every intention of operating the business as usual while considering its sale or restructure,” Mr Lopresti said.Pearce Logistics has provided haulage services in Mount Gambier and surrounding areas for almost 20 years and has a dedicated workforce of almost 40 staff.
An initial creditors meeting has been scheduled in Mount Gambier on Monday afternoon to appoint a creditors committee.
Mr Lopresti acknowledged secured creditors were involved, but declined to give an estimation of debt.
He said total debt was yet to be determined.
