Neighbourhood project funding

THE State Government is inviting community groups to help improve streets, suburbs and neighbourhoods through the Fund My Neighbourhood initiative.

The government is investing $40m back into the local community through Fund My Neighbourhood and importantly the community will decide where the money will be spent.

“This exciting fund is one of the world’s biggest community participatory budget exercises and I am inviting you and your community group to share your ideas about how we can further improve our neighbourhood,” Labor Legislative Council member Russell Wortley said.

“Your ideas can be diverse as community gardens to painting and landscaping a community centre. If there is something that you think needs to be fixed or needs to be improved in Mount Gambier, I encourage you to share your ideas.”

Nominations are now open and close on Friday, September 8.

Following a verification process, eligible projects will go online for South Australians to vote.

Successful projects will be announced later this year.

Visit the Fund My Neighbourhood website fundmyneighbourhood.sa.gov.au for full eligibility criteria and to submit an idea.

People can also contact the Fund My Neighbourhood team by emailing bettertogether@sa.gov.au or calling 1800 791 384.
