Headspace and Stand By Support After Suicide Youth Week meet up

THE youth of Mount Gambier gathered for a brownie and milkshake at Metro Bakery and Cafe Wednesday afternoon in celebration of Youth Week.

A collaboration between Headspace and Stand By Support After Suicide resulted in the third annual Chill and Chat event.

Headspace community liaison worker Nick McInerney said Youth Week was significant for people aged 12 to 25 in the South East.

“Today we are trying to gather young people together, catch up and just get to know each other,” he told The Border Watch on Wednesday.

“We have had a great turn out and have had lots of community involvement and support.

“Each year the event seems to go from strength to strength and continues to evolve which is great to see.”

Mr McInerney encouraged young residents to join in other Youth Week activities around the region over the next week.
