Girls Night In Cancer Council Australia fundraiser

KAREN Petersen held her 12th annual Girls Night In event at her Mount Gambier home on Saturday to raise money for Cancer Council Australia.

“Everyone brings a clothing item to auction and we have raffles, amazing food and drinks and plenty of laughs,” Ms Petersen said.

“We light a candle in memory of those who have lost their battle with cancer.

“The reason I started to host the Girls Night In fundraisers is because I sadly lost my sister to the disease in 2000 – it is my way of giving back and raising money for research and hopefully one day a cure.”

To date Ms Petersen has raised $13,400 for the Cancer Council.

“On Saturday we raised $1900 and $100 will go to Glencoe Kindergarten – they ‘flocked’ my front lawn this year,” she said.
