Reidy Park Centre open day

COMMUNITY groups based at the Reidy Park Centre hosted an open day to coincide with the Mount Gambier and District Orchid Society’s annual spring show recently.

Hundreds of people flowed through the former school building on O’Halloran Terrace to check out stunning orchid displays and tour the meeting rooms of the various groups.

Orchid society president Steve Say said hail and strong winds failed to deter orchid enthusiasts.

“We have had around 100 people through this morning,” he said on the day.

“If anything, the weather has been good for us because it means people would rather be inside than out working in their own gardens today.”
