CHILDREN have let their creative sides shine over the school holidays as they participated in the Mount Gambier Library Magic of Childhood program.
Mount Gambier Library children’s services development coordinator Kelly Lynch said the theme also tied in with this year’s NAIDOC Week celebrations.
“During the first week of our program, which corresponded with NAIDOC Week, we held the book launch of Annie’s Story: Growing Up Strong on Boandik Country,” Ms Lynch said.
The sessions have provided children the opportunity to let their creativity flow and develop unique creations.
Session have included robotics, self portraits, wizard wands, shadow art and being creative with styrofoam.
“We have booked out on all sessions, with the wizard wands activity booking out on the first day,” Ms Lynch said.
“It is fantastic the response we gain from the community members.
“It is important children are able to let out their creative sides and have the freedom to be artistic.”
