Tenison Woods College Timor-Leste charity ball

STUDENTS from Tenison Woods College years 11 and 12 dressed up for the annual Timor-Leste charity ball recently.

Over 180 students attended the event, which was held at the Main Corner Complex in Mount Gambier.

The night was a big success with $5000 raised for Timor-Leste communities.

Each year, a group of students and staff travel to Timor-Leste to offer support to communities in need.

2018 will mark the seventh trip carried out by Tenison Woods College and it is always well supported by the local community.

The ball is just one of the fundraising initiatives for this year’s trip.

Earlier in the year, a concert fundraiser was held at Katnook Estate winery with raffles also run at the college.

In addition, the community has been generous with one tonne of potatoes donated and a donation was also made by a combined parish group in Meningie.

Tenison Woods College students are gathering recorders together, as well as compiling stationery and hygiene packs which will be distributed to communities during the trip.
