MEMBERS of volunteer groups across Grant District Council gathered last week for the annual volunteers morning tea.
The event was held at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex and celebrated the great work volunteers do in our community.
Over 70 people were in attendance with volunteers coming from Tarpeena, Carpenter Rocks, Donovans and Port MacDonnell.
In addition to celebrating the region’s volunteers with a morning tea, some groups were also recognised with premier’s certificates acknowledging their outstanding work within the community.
Winners of the awards were the Bollywood Team, the Tarpeena Cancer Support Group and Port MacDonnell Community Emergency Response Team.
All recipients said how grateful they were to be recognised and they had no plans to slow down with their charitable work.
