Country women visit

THE world president of Associated Country Women of the World Ruth Shanks AM visited Penola last week to share her knowledge on empowering women across the globe.

The region’s branch members from both Country Women’s Association and Women in Agriculture and Business celebrated the visit with a shared lunch at the Penola Bowling Club and received a presentation from Ms Shanks and speech from George the Farmer co-founder Ben Hood.

The group visited the popular Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre and was treated to a performance from the Mary MacKillop Memorial School choir during her visit.
