School holiday fun at the Mount Gambier Library

CRAFTY youngsters “upcycled” materials to create kaleidoscopes at the Mount Gambier Library today.

“The Magic of Rainbows” holiday workshop was a fully booked session, using STEM principles to stimulate young minds.

Attendees discovered the science behind light and rainbows.

Children’s services development officer Kelly Lynch said although the library’s school holiday program was drawing to a close, a number of weekly activities would continue during the year.

“The Robotics club has been a standout during this holiday program and will run all year on Tuesday’s from 4pm to 5pm,” Ms Lynch said.

“We will introduce simple LEGO computer aided design software to our LEGO Fan Club sessions, which run on Thursday from 4pm to 5pm.

“Mine Craft Wednesday will continue at the same time – bookings are essential for all activities and all children are welcome.”
