Stand Like Stone’s Eat, Drink, Give in Penola

THE Stand Like Stone Foundation’s Eat, Drink, Give pop-up bar event provided residents an opportunity to catch up for a good cause.

Raising funds and awareness for the foundation’s Penola Coonawarra Subfund, committee members hosted a pop-up bar at the former Never Too Old site last Friday evening.

With live music, artwork, food and drinks, the event attracted around 150 people.

Committee member Janet Brodie said it was a memorable evening which also highlighted successful grant applicants.

“The pop-up exceeded our expectations and was a fantastic evening,” she said.

“We had about 150 people through the door and the atmosphere was really great.

“Fundraising was an aspect of the event, however our main aim was to raise the profile of Stand Like Stone within the community.”

Helen Edwards spoke about the positive impact Stand Like Stone grants have had on the lives of residents of aged care facility Pinchunga.

The committee plans to host events similar to Eat, Drink, Give on a regular basis.
