IN THIS TOGETHER: Penola High School Year 12 students raise funds and awareness for mental wellbeing.

MENTAL health awareness was at the forefront for Penola High School Year 12 students last week.

Year 12 student Ruby Robinson organised a mental health awareness program which focused on the importance of youth mental well-being.

Ms Robinson planned and encouraged students to participate in a wide variety of activities during recess and lunch from Wednesday through to Friday.

The activities were designed to promote mental wellness and develop students’ understanding of the practices available to help with mental health and stress.

Students participated in activities including yoga, table tennis, hall games and volleyball, with Ms Robinson also organising a video conference with headspace to provided students with information regarding mental health and well-being.

A coffee van and sweets were available for students to purchase to cap off a successful week of activities, with all students encouraged to wear green and offer a gold coin donation to support headspace Australia.
