DAILY viewings of the Millicent National Trust Museum have recently resumed.

Museums and galleries had been closed around the nation for almost three months as the Federal Government acted on the COVID-19 threat.

The reopening coincided with the June holiday long weekend with 20 visitors passing through the museum on Saturday alone.

The number is well ahead of the June monthly average.

The compulsory closure meant the Millicent National Trust could not celebrate the museum’s 50th anniversary in April nor release a commemorative history booklet.

Branch chairman Barry Long is hopeful both events can be rescheduled for the museum’s annual Heritage Day in October.
