THE annual gala event for the Millicent world of commerce will not proceed in 2020.

The Millicent Business Community Association (MBCA) has decided to cancel this year’s Outstanding Business Awards presentation night due to concerns about COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the association is also looking for a new coordinator to oversee the event in 2021.

In recent years it has been coordinated by Millicent business identity Marg Chapple and she has previously served as an MBCA executive committee member, secretary and president.

Individuals who are interested in the coordinator’s role are encouraged to contact MBCA chairman Lee Morgan.

The South Eastern Times has been one of the sponsors of the MBCA awards since its inception and provided advertising packages for the winners of some sections.

Former employee Brooke Littlewood was the 2013 Young Employee of the Year while The South Eastern Times was elevated to the MBCA Hall of Fame in the following
year.
