VIEWS INVITED: The Education Department is welcoming community feedback on the future of Tantanoola Primary School.

TANTANOOLA families, educators and the town’s broader community are encouraged to provide feedback on the future primary education needs of young people in the area.

The gates of the 139-year-old facility temporarily closed for this year in January after the sole student expected to attend Tantanoola Primary School enrolled in another school.

A committee has been formed to facilitate a review, which will examine what will provide the best education outcomes as well as considering the social and economic needs of Tantanoola.

The committee will examine a range of information and develop a recommendation to the Education Department based on feedback.

An opportunity will be provided to submit feedback in writing to the Mount Gambier Education Office.

Coast and Vines Partnership regional education director Dr Ruth Schubert said the review was being conducted in line with the legislated requirements and the committee was set to present its findings to Education Minister John Gardner by the end of June.
