St John Ceo Ray Creen And Retiring Limestone Coast Member Elizabeth Groo...web TBW Newsgroup
HANGING UP THE BOOTS: St John Ambulance SA chief executive officer Ray Creen thanked long-serving member Elizabeth Groom for her 33 years of service at a Mount Gambier St John Cadet Division presentation held recently.

GUT-WRENCHING ambulance sirens could now be considered white noise for long-serving St John veteran and Southend resident Elizabeth Groom.

Recently entering retirement after 33 years of service, Ms Groom has dedicated her time to the community in many ways.

As a professionally trained teacher, Ms Groom had a particular interest in training and instructing through courses and programs.

Many participants benefited from her skills, knowledge and wide range of experience.

Ms Groom also cared for the sick and injured in the community as a volunteer ambulance officer while also performing field duties with the St John Ambulance Brigade.

In total, Ms Groom contributed 11,391 hours in humanitarian service to the Limestone Coast community over more than three decades of membership.

At the Mount Gambier St John Cadet Division presentation evening held recently, Ms Groom was thanked by St John Ambulance SA chief executive officer Ray Creen.

He presented her with an etched glass appreciation shield and a certificate of acknowledgement signed by St John Ambulance SA commissioner Peter Jackson.
