Penola High School students relax as final exams completed

CELEBRATION: Penola High School students Phoebe, Claire and Kasey celebrate the end of school in style.

PENOLA High School students celebrated the end of school last week with the annual Year 12 graduation dinner, with 15 students receiving a graduation certificate following the end of an extensive exam period.

Of the graduates, 12 sat their final exams alongside three Year 11 students.

Year 12 coordinator Mike Hentschke said exam time provided an opportunity for students to consolidate their year of learning.

“It is not unusual for students to have a large workload during exam time,” Mr Hentschke said.

“However, it does also depend on the subject the student is sitting the exam for and the aspirations of the student as to how focused they are.”

Mr Hentschke said the Year 12 cohort had the opportunity to focus through fairly extensive revision classes and holiday sessions.

“We have also had a number of students who have already completed all of the course requirements and all they needed to do was sit the exam,” he said.

“We are overall happy with their progress with some students being quite self disciplined and focused which has been maintained all year round.”

Official results will be announced later this year.
