Millicent Christmas appeal launched

CHRISTMAS can be a difficult time of the year for thousands of people living in Millicent and surrounding districts.

However, in the true spirit of Christmas, Target and Uniting Care have joined forces to gift disadvantaged children with joy and encourage community members to pull together and help spread festive cheer.

The appeal encourages residents to donate presents to children who otherwise would not receive one.

As in past years, the appeal has the support of the Millicent Uniting Church and Millicent’s Target Country store.

Church secretary Gloria Garrett said donors can be assured all donations of cash and gifts stay in Millicent.

Target Country store manager Ann Nowak said her customers have a generous nature and strongly support the annual appeal.

“Millicent might be a small town but its people have big hearts,” Ms Nowak said.

Customers are encouraged to purchase a $1 bauble found at the store’s cash registers or make an online contribution.

The appeal will run until Christmas Eve.
