STUDY RECOGNITION: Georgia Chant celebrates with her father Peter after being named as Sacred Heart College’s 2019 Year 12 VET student of the year.

TANTANOOLA resident Georgia Chant has been named as Sacred Heart College’s Year 12 VET student of the year.

Georgia received the award due to her commitment to study, sports and her positive attitude in class.

She is currently studying a Certificate III in Rural Operations (Animal Husbandry) and she is in the A Band of her year level.

For her work placements, Georgia worked at various pastoral properties in addition to the Monarto Zoo.

Georgia was also made the Fourviere Year 12 House Captain and has been described by staff as applying herself to her studies with “an outstanding level of commitment and enthusiasm”.

Her sporting achievements include playing netball, cricket, water polo and Australian Rules football.

Georgia is also a committed member of the boarding community and was instrumental in organising her house fundraiser.

Georgia attends Brighton College with her sister Lucy and her father Peter Chant was a previous alumnus.

The Year 12 VET student of the year award is traditionally given to students who demonstrate the outstanding qualities of resilience, perseverance, commitment and respect.
